La ventaja de fotografiar como se te ponga de los cojones es eso, que fotografías como se te pone de los cojones sin seguir estándares ni normas ni clásicos chupaclásicos.
Estoy volviendo a disfrutar de la fotografía, mucho. Todas las noches recargo las baterías de la cámara porque sé que cuando salga de casa el aparato más cojonudo del mundo se viene conmigo para sacarle juego y créeme, le saco provecho porque hago fotos y porque me hace disfrutar durante y una vez visto el resultado obtenido en mi ordenador, ¡flipo con las fotos que hago!, soy el puto amo de la fotografía...esto último es una broma (pesada, que ya sabemos como nos las gastamos los fotógrafos...)
No hace mucho estuvimos hablando del intencionalismo en la fotografía (te resumo en seis palabras por si no lo leíste/escuchaste; Fotografiar como quieras buscando resultados distintos)y de lo bueno que es ponerlo a la práctica porque vas cogiendo ideas, se te quita el temor de mostrar tus fotografías a la gente (fotógrafos o no) y que buscas cosas que casi nadie ha buscado o atrevido nunca en en la fotografía, esto último son palabras mayores y lo sé queridísimo lector.
Pues bien, un nivel más por encima del intencionalismo o llamándolo mejor el intencionalismo en su máxima potencia puede ser el fotografiar como se te ponga de los cojones y no es nada más que saber lo que quieres fotografiar y hacerlo como más bien se te ponga de tus partes más nobles sin seguir normas ni esos clásicos chupaclásicos que te comentaba antes. Es así como vas a disfrutar de tu fotografía y cómo vas a adaptar un estilo propio. Da igual a quien le gusta tus fotos, da exactamente igual.
Chupaclásicos:
1. Persona que lee y venera a los clásicos de la fotografía
2. Imbécil que critica con dureza cualquier tipo de fotografía menos la suya propia, llegando incluso a faltar el respeto
3. Listillo/a, Sabelotodo del arte de la fotografía
Cuando ya has disparado unas decenas de miles de veces y sientes que te has estancado en tu estilo quizá sea porque estás más pendiente del like en las redes sociales que en expresarte mediante la fotografía, o quizá tienes miergonza (miedo + vergüenza) a hacer algo distinto y te has quedado obsoleto con ése estilo que creías tener...esos momentos decisivos que ya no encuentras, esos pasos de cebra con la mujer de la camiseta a rayas que ya has fotografiado varias veces, tu sombra a la espalda de una señora, esa mierda de charco reflejando un edificio (esta foto la odio, perdóneme)....
Haz algo distinto y no tengas miedo, cojones!
Lee Friedlander es uno de mis fotógrafos favoritos, es un tío con pelotas que fotografiaba como se le ponía de las mismas. Una vez, creo que fue la General Motor (GM) le encargó unas fotografías de sus coches en la calle y el bueno de Lee quiso hacer algo distinto, algo que no se le ocurriese a ningún otro fotógrafo, decidió poner el coche en segundo plano sin que se viese en su totalidad, La mayoría de estos coches estaban tapados por estátuas, cabinas de tele´fono y un sinfín de trastos en mi primer plano que impedían ver la majestusiedad de aquella marca. Cuando presentó el trabajo casi le dan con las fotos en la cabeza porque....porque así son los que pagan. Ya hablaremos otro día de esto y de ¨este¨
Ya ha pasado tiempo desde que mi mano izquierda mostrando el reloj saliese en una fotografía (controversia hubo) y desde entonces ha salido ya en varias fotos. He de reconocer que al principio y después de la controversia que hubo me daba MIEDO el volver a fotografiarla pero es que es muy fotogénica y no puedo resistirme así que de vez en cuando y aprovechando mi serie TEMPUS saco la manita a relucir.
Las fotos no son espectaculares y lo sé pero están complementando y dando sentido a ciertos trabajos en los que estoy trabajando. ¿es intencionalismo? Sí, porque lo hago con intención. ¿es intencionalismo en su máxima potencia o también llamado fotografiar como se te ponga de los cojones? Lo es desde luego porque me la trae al pairo lo que digan otros que nunca han mirado por el visor de mi cámara

The advantage of shooting the way you want to shoot is that you shoot the way you want to shoot without following standards or rules or classic classics.
I'm enjoying photography again, a lot. Every night I recharge the batteries of the camera because I know that when I leave the house the coolest device in the world comes with me to play with it and believe me, I take advantage of it because I take pictures and because it makes me enjoy myself during and once I see the result obtained in my computer, I'm delighted with the pictures I take, I'm the fucking master of photography... this last one is a joke (a bad one, we know how we photographers are...).
Not long ago we were talking about intentionalism in photography (I'll sum it up in seven words in case you didn't read/listen to it; Photograph as you like looking for different results) and how good it is to put it into practice because you get ideas, you get rid of the fear of showing your photographs to people (photographers or not) and you look for things that almost nobody has ever looked for or dared in photography, the latter are big words and I know that, dear reader.
Well, one more level above the intentionalism or calling it better the intentionalism in its maximum power can be to photograph as you like and it is nothing more than knowing what you want to photograph and do it as you like without following rules or those classic classics that I told you before. this is how you will enjoy your photography and how you will adapt your own style. It doesn't matter who likes your photos, it doesn't matter.
Classic suckers:
1. Person who reads and worships the classics of photography
2. Jerk who harshly criticizes any kind of photography except his own, even to the point of disrespecting it.
3. Smartass, Know-it-all in the art of photography
When you've already shot a few tens of thousands of times and you feel you've stagnated in your style, maybe it's because you're more interested in the likes on social networks than in expressing yourself through photography, or maybe you're ashamed (fear + shame) to do something different and you've become obsolete with that style you thought you had. ...those decisive moments that you can't find anymore, those zebra crossings with the woman in the striped t-shirt that you've already photographed several times, your shadow on the back of a lady, that shitty puddle reflecting a building (I hate this picture, forgive me)....
Do something different and don't be afraid, dammit!
Lee Friedlander is one of my favourite photographers, he's a guy with balls who shoots whatever he can get his hands on. Once, I think it was General Motors (GM) commissioned him to take some photographs of their cars on the street and Lee wanted to do something different, something that no other photographer could think of, he decided to put the car in the background without it being seen in its entirety. Most of these cars were covered by statues, phone booths and a lot of junk in my foreground that prevented me from seeing the majesty of that brand. When he presented the work, he almost got hit in the head with the photos because .... because that's what the payers are like. We'll talk about this and ¨this¨ another day.
It's been a while since my left hand showing my watch appeared in a photograph (there was controversy) and since then it has appeared in several photos. I have to admit that at the beginning and after the controversy I was FEARED to photograph it again but it is very photogenic and I can't resist so from time to time and taking advantage of my TEMPUS series I show my left hand.
The photos are not spectacular and I know that, but they are complementing and giving meaning to certain works I am working on. is it intentionalism? Yes, because I do it with intention. Is it intentionalism at its best or is it also called photographing as you damn well please? It is, of course, because I don't give a damn about what other people say who have never looked through the viewfinder of my camera.
