Edward Weston fue un famoso fotógrafo americano de principios del siglo XX y pensaba que mientras las otras artes inventan, la fotografía reproduce sucesos y acontecimientos reales, sin embargo hay algunos fotógrafos como el francés Robert Doisneau, autor de una de las fotografías más famosas de la historia, fotografía que abre este post ¨El beso en el ayuntamiento¨ (considerada durante muchos años como ejemplo de captación de un momento pero que sin embargo fue una puesta en escena preparada por él mismo) que define a la fotografía como un ¨testigo falso¨ ya que las fotografías, en general no dicen la verdad, o como dice el fotógrafo español Joan Fontcuberta, que se refiere a la fotografía como una traición visual para el espectador ya que hace pasar por verdad lo que no es, por eso denomina a este arte El beso de Judas.
Toda fotografía es la opinión del fotógrafo acerca de lo que fotografía y cómo lo hace, opinión expresada a través del emplazamiento, encuadre, ángulo y el momento del disparo, manifestando un deseo narrativo de su autor.

La imagen de una fotografía comunica un mensaje que se fundamenta en un contexto social, político, económico, religioso, etc.
El control que ejerce el fotógrafo sobre la imagen condiciona el significado de la misma y a quienes la visualizan.
¿Es la fotografía una traslación real de la percepción visual?
Evidentemente no, ya que:
Elimina la percepción tridimensional y lo transforma en bidimensional
el encuadre impone límites artificiales a la visión ilimitada del ojo
Congela el tiempo y el movimiento
Satura y desatura la luz y los colores
Juega con tamaño real de lo fotografiado
No registra estímulos sensoriales de sonido, temperatura, olor...
Además, en el resultado final de una fotografía influyen:
La elección de la película ( si disparas en analógico) (blanco y negro, color, sensibilidad, grano....

Enfoque/desenfoque
La intervención sobre la luz
Apertura del diafragma
Tiempo de exposición
Domento del disparo
Procesado
Así pues, al elaborar una representación visual, el fotógrafo pone en movimiento determinados códigos, entendiendo estos como vías de relación entre el plano de la expresión y el plano del contenido, por lo que puede afirmarse que el resultado de una fotografía está lejos de ser una interpretación fiel de la realidad. La fotografía es, más bien, un acto de interpretación de la realidad

Edward Weston was a famous American photographer of the early twentieth century and thought that while the other arts invent, photography reproduces real events and events, however there are some photographers like the French Robert Doisneau, author of one of the most famous photographs in history, photograph that opens this post ¨The kiss at the town hall¨ (considered for many years as an example of capturing a moment but that nevertheless was a staging prepared by himself) who defines photography as a ¨false witness¨ since photographs, in general do not tell the truth, or as the Spanish photographer Joan Fontcuberta says, who refers to photography as a visual betrayal for the viewer as it passes for truth what it is not, that is why he calls this art El beso de Judas (The Judas Kiss).
Every photograph is the photographer's opinion about what he photographs and how he photographs it, an opinion expressed through the location, framing, angle and moment of the shot, manifesting a narrative desire of its author.

The image of a photograph communicates a message that is based on a social, political, economic, religious, etc. context.
The photographer's control over the image conditions the meaning of the image and those who view it.
Is photography a real translation of visual perception?
Evidently not, because:
It eliminates the three-dimensional perception and transforms it into a two-dimensional one.
Framing imposes artificial limits on the eye's unlimited vision.
It freezes time and movement
It saturates and desaturates light and colours.
Plays with the actual size of the photographed
It does not register sensory stimuli of sound, temperature, smell...
In addition, the final result of a photograph is influenced by:
The choice of film ( if you shoot in analogue) (black and white, colour, sensitivity, grano....

Point of view and framing
Focus/blur
Intervention on the light
Aperture aperture
Exposure time
Shot timing
Processing
Thus, in producing a visual representation, the photographer sets certain codes in motion, understood as ways of relating the plane of expression to the plane of content, so that it can be said that the result of a photograph is far from being a faithful interpretation of reality. Photography is, rather, an act of interpretation of reality.
