Vuelvo a fotografiar y vuelvo con ganas, ganas de hacer cosas distintas y sin mirar que es lo que van a pensar aquellos que miren mis fotografías. Han pasado varios meses desde que cogí la cámara por última vez pero durante este tipo no ha habido día que no me acordase de lo que más me gusta. Fotografiar y ver #fotografias
Hace unos meses que acabé saturado de la fotografía, fue un cúmulo de cosas lo que me hizo aparcar lo que más e gustaba y motivaba día a día para salir a la calle; Las medidas del gobierno de HK por el corona virus que nos impedía salir de Hong Kong, las putas mascarillas a todas las horas, aquel rechazo a mi proyecto de una escuela de fotografía callejera (dando mi puesto a un estudio de fotografía tan bueno o mal como tantos otros, pero al fin y al cabo otro MISMO ESTUDIO), el dinero y tiempo gastado en fotografía, los mismos colegas fotógrafos tan críticos con el trabajo de los demás y tan firmes con su propio trabajo (lo mío, lo mejor) y mi forma de fotografiar que sinceramente, me estaba estancando, no quería encontrar más momentos comprometidos, ni graciosos, ni espontáneos ni decisivos....Todo esto y algo más se mezcló e hizo que pensase que lo mejor era dejar la fotografía.
No quiero entrar en más penas ni justificaciones, ahora ya he vuelto y quiero seguir fotografiando y descubrir nuevas formas de hacerlo, seguro que mucho han servido las conversaciones con otros colegas fotógrafos que me han ayudado e inspirado a volver, gracias chicos.
Fotografiar el color
Para ser sincero, de nunca he sabido fotografiar en/el color, esos cambios de temperatura que algunos fotógrafos usan con destreza y que para mí siempre ha sido como usar mi mano izquierda, lo hacía, pero mal.
El color es una asignatura pendiente en mi aprendizaje fotográfico, lo reconozco, y aunque seguiré disparando en blanco y negro esas escenas callejeras que me gusta encontrar, la próxima serie va ser en color, y nada menos que será el rojo el predominante ya que como ya habéis podido ver en las redes sociales, estoy empezando esta nueva aventura con una nueva serie llamada T.A.X.I
T.A.X.I.
Con T.A.X.I. no sólo quiero fotografiar el color rojo (color del que son las taxis en Hong Kong) sino que quiero utilizar diferentes técnicas a las utilizadas en mi fotografía callejera, de momento, y sin saber cómo fotografiaré mañana, me estoy enfocando en usar multiples exposiciones para darle el mismo abigarramiento a la fotografía como caos me dan los taxi en Hong Kong, voy a fotografíar con un 35mm (50mm en full frame) y voy a aprender a mirar de manera diferente. en principio, me está gustando ya veremos si no se me hace repetitivo.
Pero, ¿por qué multiples exposiciones?
Creo que lo diferente gusta y el atreverse con algo nuevo ¨debe ser un deber¨ Veo muchísima repetición de fotografías en las redes sociales de fotógrafos y creo que un cambio no viene mal, ojo, conste que soy el primero que se repite y conste también que no vengo aquí a descubrir las múltiples explosiones, quede claro.
Además, y como ya te comenté un poco más arriba, estimado lector, los taxis en HK son tan caóticos que una forma de expresar ese caos es mediante esas múltiples exposiciones.
Desde que descubrí a Lee Friedlander y su forma de abigarrar sus fotografías (simples) empecé yo a abigarrar las mías, dejé esa ¨sutileza¨ de fotografiar a dos personas una a cada lado del encuadre para empezar a poner numerosos puntos de interés en el encuadre, esos puntos de interés que volvían loco haciendo que el espectador mirase la fotografía una y otra vez intentando descifrar cómo narices se había fotografiado aquella escena y qué cojones quería decir el fotógrafo fotografiando tal momento. Pues ahora llego aunque multiplicado por más exposiciones. Quiero confundir al espectador tanto como los taxistas de Hong Kong me confunden a mí.
Sin querer generalizar, dios me libre, los taxistas de HK, van muy rápidos y alocados, los salpicaderos de sus taxis están llenos de adornos que no adornan y móviles que no suenan, hablan por teléfono constantemente durante tu trayecto, se dan ellos mismos la propina de las vueltas, los asientos impermeables, mezcla de un cuero artificial con plástico hacen que bailes de lado a cada curva o vayas de delante atrás con cada frenazo y acelerón innecesario, este movimiento sólo es posible de llevar pantalón largo ya que de llevar pantalón corto te quedas pegado como una lapa.
Los taxistas de HK zigzaguean a velocidades vertiginosas mientras hablan por teléfono, aceleran cuando se ha de frenar y frenan cuando no hay que hacerlo, montar en taxi en HK es una experiencia llena de matices, sucesos y de color rojo, por eso, estimado lector he escogido este tema para volver a fotografiar.

I'm back to photography and I'm back with enthusiasm, eager to do different things and without looking at what those who look at my photographs will think. It's been several months since I picked up the camera for the last time but during this time there hasn't been a day that hasn't reminded me of what I like the most. Photographing and looking at #photographs.
A few months ago I ended up saturated of photography, it was an accumulation of things that made me park what I most liked and motivated me day by day to go out on the street; The measures of the HK government for the corona virus that prevented us from leaving Hong Kong, the fucking masks at all hours, that rejection of my project of a school of street photography (giving my place to a photography studio as good or bad as many others, but after all another SAME STUDIO), the money and time spent on photography, the same photographer colleagues so critical with the work of others and so firm with their own work (mine, the best) and my way of photographing that honestly, I was stagnating, I didn't want to find any more compromising moments, neither funny, spontaneous nor decisive. ...All this and something else got mixed up and made me think that the best thing to do was to quit photography.
I do not want to go into more sorrows or justifications, now I'm back and I want to continue photographing and discover new ways to do it, surely the conversations with other fellow photographers who have helped and inspired me to return have been very useful, thanks guys.
Photographing color
To be honest, I have never known how to photograph in color, photographing color, those changes in temperature that some photographers use with skill and that for me has always been like using my left hand, I did it but badly.
Color is a pending subject in my photographic learning, I recognize it and although I will continue shooting in black and white those street scenes that I like to find, the next series will be in color, and nothing less than red will be the predominant since as you have already seen in social networks, I am starting this new adventure with a new series called T.A.X.I.
T.A.X.I.
In T.A.X.I. I not only want to photograph the red color (the color of the cabs in Hong Kong) but I want to use different techniques to those used in my street photography, for the moment, and without knowing how I will photograph tomorrow, I am focusing on using multiple exposures to give the same variegation to the photograph as chaos gives me the cabs in Hong Kong, I will photograph with a 35mm (50mm in full frame) and I will learn to look differently. in principle, I am liking it and we will see if it does not become repetitive.
But why multiple exposures?
Since I discovered Lee Friedlander and his way of variegating his (simple) photographs I started to variegate mine, I left that "subtlety" of photographing two people one on each side of the frame to start putting numerous points of interest in the frame, those points of interest that drove the viewer crazy making him look at the photograph again and again trying to decipher how the hell that scene had been photographed and what the hell the photographer wanted to say by photographing that moment. Well, now I'm here but multiplied by more exposures. I want to confuse the viewer as much as Hong Kong cab drivers confuse me.
Without wanting to generalize, god forbid, HK cab drivers, they go very fast and crazy, the dashboards of their cabs are full of ornaments that do not adorn and mobiles that do not ring, they talk on the phone constantly during your ride, they tip themselves for the rides, the waterproof seats, a mixture of artificial leather and plastic make you dance sideways at every turn or go back and forth with every unnecessary braking and acceleration, this movement is only possible if you wear long pants because if you wear shorts you get stuck like a limpet.
HK cab drivers zigzag at breakneck speeds while talking on the phone, accelerate when you have to brake and brake when they do not have to, riding a cab in HK is an experience full of nuances, events and red color, so, dear reader I have chosen this subject to photograph again
