Llámame envidioso, lo entendería.
Si ayer el cartero me dio una sorpresa y me dio en la mano el paquete donde venía el libro de Friedlander, hoy me ha dado otra, no sin mirarme descaradamente como diciendo si todos los días tiene que ver mi cara, quizá sean suposiciones mías pero creo que por muy simpático que yo piense que soy con él, no le debo caer nada bien, y no debe ser por cuestiones xenófobas, religiosas o de raza, creo no caerle bien porque vivo lejos y me gusta tanto la fotografía que consumo tanto libro que debe estar hasta las narices de mí. Vivir lejos puede ser relativo lo sé, pero en la isla donde vivo no hay transportes para nadie incluído carteros y subir la cuesta que llega a mi casa con un libro de 2 kilos no le debe gustar nada. Lo que no sabe es que de momento no voy a comprar más libros, con las 800 fotos de los libros de Friedlander y Anton Corbijn y la poca pasta que me queda este tipo no me ve la cara hasta octubre. Hablemos del libro
No sé cómo llegué a este libro pero en cuanto lo vi en la plataforma e hice mi búsqueda en youtube, (busco los libros en youtube porque ves el contenido del mismo que es lo que al menos yo quiero ver en un libro de fotografía, las fotos) supe que tenía que tenerlo. Mi poca cultura musical y quizá fotográfica, me hacía desconocer al autor, pero a partir de ahora, si te atreves me puedes preguntar quién narices en Anton Corbijn que te diré que es un fotógrafo y director de videos musicales que ha trabajado y grabado a U2, Depeche Mode, REM, Nirvana, Rolling Stones... y fotografiado a medio planeta musical, esto último, me interesa mucho más que los videos. Vaya pedazo de fotos que vi en un canal de youtube en ese libro, a partir de ahora las veré y me inspirarán para futuras sesiones en mi propio libraco.
Fotografía musical
En los dos últimos post hablaba de que tenía (y tendré) envidia a varios fotógrafos; empecé por envidia de la mala a Slim Aarons y sus fotografías al glamour, riqueza y de gente atractiva haciendo cosas atractivas para al día siguiente envidiar, con envidia de la buena (se llama ENDIVIA, ya que es saludable) a Lee Friedlander. Hoy me toca envidiar a Anton Corbijn, llámame envidioso, lo entendería.
Fotografía musical suena a fotografiar lo relativo a la música y eso suena bien, la música suena bien (con sus excepciones) y la fotografía siempre me suena bien. Si mezclas ambos artes el sonido es brutal y el deseo por hacer lo mismo que Anton va in crescendo. Yo quiero hacer las fotos de portada de los discos de los Rolling
Anton lleva haciendo fotografía musical desde los 70 y algo debe saber de esto cuando es uno de los fotógrafos y directores más importantes y con quien casi todos los artistas quieren trabajar con él, yo desde los 70 he cambiado más de parecer que de calzoncillos, he querido ser futbolista, torero, guardia civil, informático, pollero (eso lo fui), boxeador, payaso (eso lo soy), profesor de español, bombero y fotógrafo, entre otras cosas. Quizá si me hubiera centrado en las cosas ahora fuese un grandísimo bombero. Anton se centró y lleva 40 años fotografiando a los tipos que más molan y más éxito sexual tienen del planeta, por ejemplo y siempre haciendo un copia y pega desde Wikipedia a: (fíjate si hay gente que los han ordenado alfabéticamente)

El libro Anton Corbijn 1-2-3-4
Como ya te he comentado, es un libro de gran tamaño y gloriosamente ilustrado, rinde homenaje a la obsesión de Corbijn por el rock and roll, un interés que le ha llevado a una amistad de por vida con Bono, Michael Stipe, Dave Gahan
y otros músicos emblemáticos. Con una perspectiva de cuatro décadas,
presenta cientos de imágenes creativas y extravagantes que Corbijn
pudo capturar en gran medida gracias a su estrecha relación
con sus temas. Casi todos los músicos y grupos venerados están
representados en los archivos de Corbijn: Nick Cave, Nirvana, U2, R.E.M.
R.E.M., los Rolling Stones o Siouxie and the Banshees. Muchos
de los retratos van acompañados de la opinión de sus protagonistas
de sus protagonistas sobre el estilo y el enfoque de Corbijn. También se incluyen

Call me envious, I would understand
If yesterday the postman gave me a surprise and handed me the package containing Friedlander's book, today he has given me another one, not without looking at me shamelessly as if he had to see my face every day, maybe it's my assumptions but I think that no matter how nice I think I am to him, he must not like me at all, and it must not be because of xenophobic, religious or race issues, I think he doesn't like me because I live far away and I like photography so much that I consume so many books that he must be sick to death of me. Living far away can be relative, I know, but on the island where I live there is no transport for anyone, including postmen, and walking up the hill to my house with a book weighing 2 kilos must not please him at all. What he doesn't know is that for the moment I'm not going to buy any more books, with the 800 photos of Friedlander's and Anton Corbijn's books and the little money I have left, this guy won't see my face until October. I don't know how I got to this book but as soon as I saw it on the platform and did my search on youtube, (I look for books on youtube because you see the content of the book, which is what I want to see in a photography book, the photos) I knew I had to have it. My lack of musical and perhaps photographic culture made me not know the author, but from now on, if you dare, you can ask me who the hell Anton Corbijn is and I will tell you that he is a photographer and music video director who has worked with and recorded U2, Depeche Mode, REM, Nirvana, Rolling Stones... and has photographed half the musical planet, the latter of which interests me much more than the videos. What a great set of photos I saw on a youtube channel in that book, from now on I will see them and they will inspire me for future sessions in my own book.
Music photography
In the last two posts I talked about how I was (and will be) envious of several photographers; I started with bad envy of Slim Aarons and his photographs of glamour, wealth and attractive people doing attractive things and the next day I envied, with good envy (it's called ENDIVIA, because it's healthy) Lee Friedlander. Today it's my turn to envy Anton Corbijn, call me envious, I'd understand.
Music photography sounds like photographing what is related to music and that sounds good, music sounds good (with its exceptions) and photography always sounds good to me. If you mix both arts the sound is brutal and the desire to do the same as Anton goes in crescendo. I want to take the cover photos for Rolling Stones albums.
Anton has been doing music photography since the 70s and he must know something about this when he is one of the most important photographers and directors and almost all the artists want to work with him. Since the 70s I have changed my mind more than my pants, I have wanted to be a footballer, bullfighter, civil guard, computer scientist, chicken driver (I was), boxer, clown (I am), Spanish teacher, fireman and photographer, among other things. Maybe if I had focused on things I would be a great fireman now. Anton focused and has been focusing for 40 years on photographing the coolest and most sexually successful guys on the planet, for example, and always copying and pasting from Wikipedia to: (look if there are people who have ordered them alphabetically).

The book Anton Corbijn 1-2-3-4
As I've already told you, it's a large, gloriously illustrated book that pays tribute to Corbijn's obsession with rock and roll, an interest that has led to lifelong friendships with Bono, Michael Stipe, Dave Gahan
and other iconic musicians. With a perspective spanning four decades,
presents hundreds of creative and quirky images that Corbijn was able to capture in
